Senior Cybersecurity Engineer – TS Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee the implementation of Tenable, Splunk, McAfee, and various security applications.

• Assess, test, recommend, coordinate, monitor, and uphold cybersecurity policies, procedures, systems, infrastructure, and access management.

• Ensure alignment of cybersecurity strategies, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures with established cybersecurity standards.

• Identify security vulnerabilities and risks, analyze the causes of security breaches, and propose preventive measures.

• Create methodologies and procedures for conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and compliance audits.

• Assess and test hardware, firmware, and software for their impact on system security.

• Investigate and resolve incidents related to intrusions, fraud, attacks, leaks, and other security breaches.

• Manage the triage of security events and collaborate with incident management, IT operations, network engineering, and application teams during incidents.

• Diagnose, identify, isolate, and analyze issues utilizing historical database records.

• Engage in security engineering, system configuration, hardening validation testing, and assessments of classified information systems.

• Assist in evaluating security posture.

• Monitor emerging cyber trends, threats, and vulnerabilities.

• Develop, integrate, and sustain security toolsets.

• Inform management about recurring issues and patterns of problems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience with Tenable.

• More than 5 years of experience with endpoint protection software such as Symantec, McAfee, or CrowdStrike.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Splunk.

• Familiarity with or willingness to learn ticketing and reporting systems.

• Exposure to or readiness to learn Linux and Windows operating systems.

• An active Top Secret clearance is required.

• CompTIA Security+ certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Travel requirement is less than 10%.
