Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and evaluate information security tools, applications, and system solutions implemented at Humana.

• Supervise design engineering and testing procedures for Humana EIP products.

• Collaborate with EIP stakeholders to guide products from design to full production release.

• Design, manage, and conduct engineering tests to validate platform and product designs.

• Create and implement protocols and solutions to protect sensitive data from both external and internal threats or attacks.

• Apply engineering updates to Humana's information technology and information security frameworks.

• Engineer data protection products like Privacera.

• Execute deployments on Azure and GCP cloud platforms.

• Establish CI/CD pipelines within the Azure environment.

• Conduct risk assessments and enhance the lifecycle of security solutions.

• Contribute to R&D for data protection security solutions and assess emerging tools.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on existing security controls, particularly Privacera.

• Identify, design, review, and collaborate on the implementation of new security technology solutions.

• Monitor trends in security threats, tools, attack vectors, mitigation strategies, and preventive measures.

• Engage in evaluations of new products or technology solutions utilizing ROI, total cost of ownership, and cost-benefit analyses.

• Conduct technical proofs of concept.

• Develop Python applications and scripts for data processing and workflow automation.

• Automate deployment pipelines and orchestrate containers using Kubernetes.

• Collaborate cross-functionally on Kubernetes resources, performance optimization, and CI/CD initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• The selected candidate must reside within a 60-minute commute of Louisville, NYC Metro, Dallas Metro, Charlotte NC Metro, South Florida (Tampa/Miami/Ft Lauderdale), Washington DC metro, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, or Nashville.

• Hands-on experience in automation using PowerShell, Python, or a similar language; beginner to intermediate level is acceptable.

• 3+ years of experience in Security & Major Incident response.

• 3+ years of experience in an Azure DevOps setting.

• 3+ years of experience with Azure monitoring.

• Proficiency in writing shell scripts.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, at all organizational levels.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC).

• Extensive experience working in Agile environments.

• 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity-oriented role.

• High-speed DSL or cable modem for home office; minimum 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

• Satellite and wireless internet services are not permitted.

• A dedicated workspace free from ongoing interruptions to ensure protection of member PHI/HIPAA information.

• Preferred: IT industry certifications, including Microsoft, Cisco, CISSP, CEH, Azure, AWS, or GCP certifications.

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical-related field.

• Preferred: Experience in security operations within cloud environments (Azure, GCP).

• Preferred: Familiarity with enterprise security controls such as firewalls, proxies, AV, and SIEM.

• Preferred: CISSP, CISM, or equivalent credentials.

• Experience with access controls and data loss prevention (DLP).

• Experience in developing and maintaining scalable Python applications.

• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.

• Experience in microservices architecture and Kubernetes deployments.

• Experience in designing Python scripts for data processing and workflow automation.

• Experience in managing Kubernetes resources, performance tuning, and CI/CD initiatives.
