Senior Cyber Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Identify, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity incidents through log analysis, threat intelligence, and behavioral patterns.

• Create, develop, and refine detection rules to enhance signal accuracy and minimize false positives.

• Construct complex SQL queries and data pipelines to facilitate large-scale incident analysis.

• Conduct advanced correlation and analysis across various data sources, including application logs, identity systems, and transaction data.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in the field of cyber incident detection and investigation.

• Incorporate threat intelligence into detection frameworks and investigative processes.

• Streamline investigative and detection workflows using Python, scripting tools, and AI technologies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Security, Legal, Compliance, Product) to enhance fraud prevention measures.

• Identify control weaknesses and propose enhancements across systems, processes, and tools.

• Develop and validate detection logic in testing environments prior to deployment in production.

• Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Stay updated on the continuously evolving landscape of cyber threats, including the principles, processes, procedures, and trends in threat prevention.

• Ensure that security best practices are recognized and incorporated into all aspects of the project, including network and system designs/configurations, as well as implementations.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 6 years of experience in cybersecurity, threat detection, and analysis.

• Extensive experience with Python scripting, automation, and AI tools.

• Proficient in handling large-scale datasets using tools such as Splunk.

• Experience in financial services or brokerage environments is preferred.
