Senior Cyber Range Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based cyber ranges and training environments.

• Create, implement, and sustain both local and cloud-based cyber range architectures that facilitate concurrent training scenarios and user sessions.

• Develop automation frameworks using Infrastructure as Code for swift deployment, teardown, and resetting of range environments.

• Build emulated cloud services and resources when direct cloud integration is impractical or cost-prohibitive.

• Ensure security controls and network isolation are in place to prevent range escape or misuse of resources.

• Work alongside content developers to convert training needs into technical specifications.

• Offer expertise and guidance on SimSpace software for various applications.

• Create and maintain documentation related to architecture, deployment, and troubleshooting.

• Conduct tailored knowledge-transfer sessions and training curricula for customers and partners.

• Occasionally travel to customer or partner sites, with an estimated travel requirement of 10%.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish in written, virtual, and face-to-face communications.

• Advanced understanding of networking concepts, including VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing, firewalls, security groups, NACLs, VPNs, and direct connectivity solutions.

• Network engineering certification is advantageous.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Puppet and Ansible.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and large-scale virtual machine deployment.

• Practical experience with monitoring and logging solutions.

• Familiarity with cloud cost management and resource optimization strategies.

• Experience with enterprise IT architectures and widely-used business applications.

• Knowledge of security principles and best practices for isolated environments.

• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to debug complex infrastructure issues.

• Excellent documentation and technical communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills for customer interactions.

• Capability to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hiring.
