Senior Customs Clearance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Global Submission Control & Validation: Review and validate all international submission orders processed through Santa Ana, New Jersey, and other U.S. hubs before release.

• Ensure proper routing, destination handling, and system configuration for all international shipments.

• Maintain "Shipping Hold" status for PSA China, Hong Kong, and other designated international submissions until cleared according to policy.

• TIB Compliance & Customs Management: Establish a global broker partnership to optimize all international shipments and facilitate seamless new location launches - assess current external partnerships and ensure robust global partners are in place to scale.

• Provide ongoing oversight of TIB compliance once shipments leave U.S. facilities.

• Actively monitor customs requirements across key locations to ensure timely processing of information and implement operational process changes prior to shipping.

• Collaborate closely with U.S. customs brokers and FedEx to guarantee end-to-end tracking and proactive resolution of customs holds.

• Track shipments for port accuracy, customs status, and completeness of documentation.

• Tracking, Auditing & Exception Management: Perform regular audits of active international submissions to identify discrepancies, delays, or compliance risks.

• Generate exception reports and escalate issues to management within a 48-hour SLA.

• Early identification of problem orders and flagging for key internal teams to avert delays in remaining shipments within bulk TIB batches.

• Diligently monitor turnaround times (TATs) and shipment progress from intake to return.

• Cross-Regional Communication & Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact between PSA U.S., China, Hong Kong, and other international logistics teams.

• Provide clear and timely status updates and resolution paths for international stakeholders.

• Coordinate across Receiving, Operations, Shipping, and Grading to ensure process continuity.

• Process Improvement & Systems Partnership: Collaborate with Operations, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders to: Strengthen system safeguards.

• Decrease reliance on manual tracking and fragmented documentation.

• Automate destination validation and routing checks.

• Implement Shipping department process improvements as necessary to ensure smooth delivery to international customers and business locations.

• Contribute to the creation and enforcement of standardized international logistics procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7-10+ years of experience in international logistics, supply chain, or shipping operations.

• Proficient understanding of customs processes, commercial invoices, and international shipping documentation.

• Strong attention to detail and capability to manage complex, multi-step workflows.

• Demonstrated ability to track, audit, and resolve exceptions in high-volume environments.

• Excellent cross-functional communication skills.

• Extensive (10 years+) experience managing TIB shipments or bonded logistics processes (preferred).

• Familiarity with warehouse management and order management systems (preferred).

• Experience supporting Asia Pacific logistics flows (preferred).

• Background in operational compliance or process improvement (preferred).
