Senior CSA Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Prepare and deliver cost estimates and quantity take-offs for CSA.

• Oversee commercial operations independently for a significant semiconductor manufacturing facility.

• Advise clients on strategies for procurement.

• Manage the processes of vendor prequalification, proposals, bids, change orders, and bid leveling documentation.

• Provide final recommendations to clients.

• Attend and lead bid interviews while overseeing the appointment process.

• Assess contractor and subcontractor tenders and formulate commercial recommendations.

• Review, confirm, and negotiate variations, change orders, and compensation events.

• Offer side-by-side cost comparisons.

• Examine change orders and verify quantities, rates, and scopes in line with industry standards and contract documents.

• Perform Class 3 estimates as needed.

• Manage, review, and present estimates of intricate change orders.

• Benchmark performance against successful projects.

• Assist in change management within a fast-paced design and construction environment.

• Utilize Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, cost estimating software, and take-off software.

• Provide commercial management support for specialized CSA projects.

• Comply with applicable SOX control responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in a Quantity Surveying and/or estimating position within the construction sector.

• Strong understanding of construction contracts.

• RICS accreditation or progress towards it is advantageous.

• Experience in supporting cost management for medium to large construction projects.

• Construction consultancy experience is highly preferred.

• Solid knowledge of procurement methods, value management, and value engineering.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Experience with industrial and/or heavy commercial structures.

• Familiarity with structural concrete/steel, civil, architectural, and clean room systems.

• Knowledge of RS Means is beneficial.

• Proficiency in MS Suite, Bluebeam, digital cost management tools, and/or estimating software.

• Experience with BIM-based quantity extraction is a plus.

• Understanding of semiconductor facility infrastructure and construction methods is advantageous.

• Ability to comprehend Class 2 estimates is preferred.

• RICS certification is a bonus.
