Senior Crop Insurance Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist the Multi-Peril Crop Insurance, Private Products, and Named Peril claims team.

• Develop and sustain professional relationships with Area Claim Supervisors, policyholders, agents, and other adjusters.

• Document and communicate loss information to assess potential damages in accordance with FCIC, NCIS, and company protocols.

• Conduct field inspections, interpret maps and aerial imagery, measure fields, and evaluate storage bins.

• Utilize company software effectively and check company communications on a daily basis.

• Adhere to FCIS, state, and company guidelines, regulations, policies, and procedures for MPCI and private products.

• Complete both initial and ongoing training and certifications mandated by FCIC and state regulations.

• Clarify adjusting procedures and findings to policyholders and agents.

• Engage in fact-finding and examine crop damage to ascertain possible indemnities.

• Educate field claims personnel on claim processes, best practices, and compliance standards.

• Travel locally and occasionally out of town for training and meetings.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years' experience as a crop insurance adjuster is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in managing crop insurance claims is preferred.

• CAPP certification is required.

• A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is necessary.

• Applicable State license is required.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a suitable combination of education and experience is necessary.

• A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Basic mathematical abilities are required.

• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential.

• Capability to fulfill documentation requirements is necessary.

• Analytical thinking, fact-finding, and problem-solving skills are required.

• The ability to remain self-motivated and efficient is essential.

• Capability to work in an office environment and outdoors in a farm setting is necessary.

• Ability to function independently and as part of a team is required.

• A focus on customer service is essential.

• Understanding of crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices is important.

• Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines is required.

• Willingness to take initiative and work with minimal supervision is essential.

• Strong time management and prioritization skills are necessary.

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally is required.

• Capability to walk in agricultural fields for up to 3 miles is necessary.

• Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 75 feet is required.

• Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, balance, and work at significant heights is essential.

• Ability to work in confined spaces is necessary.

• Capability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and high-dust environments is required.

• Ability to utilize applicable personal protective equipment is necessary.

• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and as needed is required.

• Ability to travel up to 50%, primarily within a two-hour driving distance from the assigned home office is essential.

• Openness to learning about new crops is necessary.
