This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of comprehensive credit strategy projects — from designing frameworks to implementation and continuous monitoring.
• Develop, assess, and enhance risk and pricing strategies for both consumer and commercial credit cards.
• Proactively modify credit card policies based on the performance of the portfolio and evolving risk trends.
• Create strategies that have a direct impact on key performance indicators: approval rates, new accounts, loss rates, profit margins, and more.
• Collaborate with data scientists to create top-tier credit risk and cash flow models.
• Work alongside product teams to design contemporary credit stacks and data strategies that utilize financial, banking, and third-party datasets, facilitating large-scale underwriting automation.
• Partner with capital markets on securitization frameworks, warehouse lines, and forward flow agreements.
• Offer analytical assistance to co-brand partners, including forecasts on losses and profitability analyses.
• Prepare documentation for underwriting and risk management.
• Assist banking partners with model validation and governance processes.
• Regularly report on KPIs and risk performance to senior management.
• Act as a risk consultant for bank partners and clients — suggesting enhancements to credit strategies.
• Collaborate with various departments such as Banking, Product, Finance, and Capital Markets, serving as both an internal strategic resource and an external advisor.
• Over 8 years of experience in developing credit card risk and pricing programs, preferably within a fintech environment — encompassing consumer and/or commercial underwriting.
• Demonstrated ownership throughout the entire credit card lifecycle:
• Development, monitoring, and adjustment of credit policy and risk strategies.
• Design of approval, line assignment, and pricing strategies.
• Conducting risk assessments for potential partners.
• Formulating acquisition strategies for card programs.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Math, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in Excel and SQL modeling.
• Skilled at utilizing data to foster alignment among stakeholders with differing priorities.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, finance, compliance, banking partners, and capital providers.
• Excellent communicator — capable of simplifying complex credit concepts for executive, partner, and cross-functional audiences, both in writing and verbally.
• Adaptable in a development environment — smoothly transitioning between strategy and execution without extensive support.
• Thrives in high-paced, dynamic environments with changing priorities.
• Proven ability to adjust credit strategies in response to shifts in portfolio performance or macroeconomic factors.
