This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Play an essential role in shaping Monzo's credit strategy across credit card offerings.

• Design and enhance credit underwriting and limit strategies to maximize risk management and growth.

• Analyze portfolio performance metrics (such as arrears, utilization, revenue, losses, and vintage curves) to uncover actionable insights.

• Construct and interpret NPV and profitability models to guide strategic decisions.

• Develop segmentation frameworks to pinpoint revenue and risk pressure points.

• Lead in-depth analytical investigations into portfolio trends and emerging risks.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design and test new features and strategy modifications.

• Assess the commercial and customer impacts of pricing, eligibility, and limit choices.

• Deliver clear, structured recommendations to senior stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements, aligning strategies with policy and risk appetite.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in unsecured lending, preferably within the credit card sector.

• A solid understanding of credit card economics, including APR, utilization, interchange, revolving behavior, cost of funds, and losses. Experience with modeling rewards cards is advantageous.

• Proven experience in building or influencing credit strategies, such as underwriting, limit management, and pricing.

• Strong analytical and data skills, complemented by technical coding expertise. SQL is essential, while Python and Looker experience are beneficial.

• Familiarity with NPV models, profitability analysis, and portfolio forecasting.

• Ability to communicate complex analyses clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced environment.

• An interest in balancing risk, growth, and customer outcomes.

• Bonus points if you have:

• Experience in a regulated UK lending environment.

• Exposure to IFRS9, stress testing, or capital modeling.

• Experience with experimentation or strategy testing frameworks.

• Experience with business lending products.
