Senior Counsel – Landlord/Tenant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create persuasive case themes for landlord-tenant defense issues

• Independently manage court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials

• Oversee multi-party, high-value, and high-exposure litigation

• Handle all aspects of discovery and trial procedures

• Regularly communicate with clients

• Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients

• Collaborate effectively with attorneys of varying experience levels

• Provide guidance, leadership, and mentorship to junior attorneys

• Assist clients through intricate and emotionally charged litigation

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited institution

• Active California bar license is mandatory

• Minimum of 8 years of litigation experience, particularly in litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation

• Experience in managing landlord-tenant litigation, including issues related to habitability, mold exposure, wrongful eviction, tenant injury, and similar claims

• Capability to handle complete case responsibilities, encompassing all aspects of discovery and trial

• Preferred experience in insurance defense cases

• Familiarity with time management systems

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Ability to think and operate independently with minimal oversight

• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills

• Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor
