Senior Counsel, Head of Government Contracts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the in-house authority on U.S. government and defense contracting for Impulse Space.

• Offer strategic legal guidance throughout the entire lifecycle of government programs.

• Counsel executives and cross-functional teams regarding government contracts and subcontracts.

• Analyze and apply FAR, DFARS, and associated regulations.

• Negotiate intricate agreements.

• Oversee compliance responsibilities.

• Assist with contract execution, amendments, and disputes.

• Create scalable processes and training initiatives.

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.

• Supervise outside counsel for specialized legal matters.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a recognized law school.

• Current membership in the U.S. bar.

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in government contracts law.

• Over 5 years of experience in the aerospace or defense sectors.

• Profound understanding of government contracting principles.

• Excellent business judgment.

• Strong communication skills with senior leadership.

• Experience supporting defense or national security initiatives within the space industry is highly preferred.

• Capability to operate in accordance with U.S. export regulations.
