This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Assume responsibility for reviewing, negotiating, drafting, and managing a diverse array of legal agreements.
• Provide guidance to Twilio’s internal stakeholders on contract interpretation and negotiation strategies.
• Advocate for Twilio’s mission, ethics, and integrity by ensuring compliance with the company's policies, safeguarding against risk, adhering to relevant local laws and regulations, and aligning with Twilio’s core values.
• Endeavor to comprehend the context of Twilio’s customers’ positions and the requests from internal clients. Aim to resolve issues and address challenges from their viewpoints.
• Assess and prioritize which matters and issues warrant your attention at any given time.
• J.D. with strong academic credentials and a proven track record of success as an attorney.
• Licensed member of the local State Bar or eligible to register as Registered In-House Counsel.
• Over 6 years of experience in commercial transactions, including at least 4 years negotiating complex technology agreements (e.g., SaaS).
• Experience in supporting a large sales organization.
• Proficient in structuring, drafting, and negotiating a high volume and wide range of commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to provide entrepreneurial, quick-thinking, pragmatic, business-oriented advice and recommendations that effectively balance legal risks with business rewards.
• Capable of simplifying complex legal concepts so that non-lawyers can grasp the issues and associated risks.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to advocate for a position while maintaining a collaborative and open-minded approach.
• Skilled in managing a heavy workload, setting appropriate expectations with internal clients, and delivering results efficiently.
