Senior Counsel, Cards Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to the Product team on the introduction of new features for the Motive Card.

• Negotiate various contracts, including customer NDAs, issuer processor agreements, and receivables financing agreements.

• Assist Sales by offering training and developing processes to enhance and expedite the sales cycle.

• Review and contribute to the creation of engaging and compliant marketing content.

• Collaborate with Finance and Risk to reduce losses, investigate fraud, and establish loss-mitigation policies and processes.

• Work collaboratively with legal colleagues in areas such as privacy, regulatory affairs, intellectual property, and general product counseling on innovative issues.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and assist colleagues in anticipating upcoming challenges.

• Establish trust with business partners and become a trusted advisor for the Motive Card business.

• Report directly to the Associate General Counsel, Head of Product.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US-licensed attorney based in the United States.

• At least 6+ years of professional experience is required.

• Substantial in-house experience complemented by law firm training.

• Experience with emerging fintech products, particularly in the area of commercial payments; note that crypto experience is not considered.

• Ability to articulate US financial regulations to engineers and product managers, applying them to tangible products.

• Comfort in making independent decisions in situations of regulatory or contractual ambiguity.

• A revenue-enabling mindset with discernment on when to advocate for or against certain initiatives.

• A humble, low-ego approach with a focus on empowering team members.

• An AI-first mindset and a keen interest in developing and utilizing AI-driven tools.

• Must be authorized to receive and access commodities and technologies regulated under U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
