This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Offer legal assistance to the APX or OPx commercial operations teams.

• This assistance entails drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, financing contracts, and strategic corporate collaborations, along with providing relevant legal advice for substantial and intricate customer contracts, including new reactor development projects and associated procurements.

• Deliver timely, practical, and risk-aware guidance and counsel to internal clients regarding complex commercial agreements, teaming agreements, joint ventures, engineering services contracts, and feasibility studies.

• Act on our behalf in commercial negotiations and disputes, collaborating and negotiating with legal representatives who may represent utilities, project developers, construction partners, vendors, and others.

• Demonstrate strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities in an international setting.

• Oversee and manage external legal counsel as necessary.

• Educate and advise management on legal matters, compliance, and risk management strategies.

• Travel domestically and internationally as required.

• In alignment with the Westinghouse Global Ethics Code, support our objectives while ensuring adherence to laws and regulations and mitigating commercial legal risks.

• Collaborate with experts to address risks to the company concerning the full range of legal issues related to new reactor development.

• Stay updated on legal advancements within the area of responsibility and provide updates to clients.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a recognized law school.

• 5-10+ years of experience representing clients in complex industrial, construction, procurement contract negotiations or high-stakes major project litigation matters.

• Proficiency in providing legal counsel on the entire spectrum of commercial business issues associated with mega-project contract negotiations.

• Must be admitted to practice in a relevant US jurisdiction.

• Experience in crafting high-quality legal documents, including commercial agreements, letters, and other external communications, as well as memoranda.

• Foreign language skills are preferred.

• Previous in-house experience is preferred.
