This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Manage a caseload of high-exposure cases and intricate litigation matters independently from inception to trial and appeal.
• Litigate cases to verdict or negotiate settlements utilizing litigation skills and strategies.
• Engage in advanced legal research and create compelling legal documents and presentations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials, and other substantive legal documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments autonomously.
• Provide in-depth case analysis and strategic recommendations to insured clients and Claim partners regarding file-handling methods.
• Work collaboratively with expert witnesses and consultants on case strategies, technical aspects, and litigation testimony.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients and business partners.
• Deliver training, seminars, and legal updates to insured clients and Claim partners.
• Mentor attorneys and legal support personnel.
• Initiate special projects to support office objectives and business requirements.
• Effectively utilize technology, case-management systems, and automation tools.
• Travel as necessary to fulfill business obligations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Over 7 years of experience in insurance defense litigation as a practicing attorney.
• Proven capability to try cases before a jury and a strong history of litigating jury trials successfully.
• Extensive technical knowledge in relevant practice areas.
• Proficient in communicating complex litigated issues to diverse audiences.
• Advanced skills in oral and written advocacy.
• Demonstrated success in summary judgment and/or appellate cases.
• Comprehensive understanding of the bench, bar, local jurisdictional practices, and adversaries.
• Strong relationship-building abilities with colleagues, clients, and business partners.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and influencing capabilities.
• Sound judgment and advanced negotiation skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities with meticulous attention to detail, urgency, and responsiveness.
• Adaptable mindset with a readiness to embrace new challenges.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Active law practice license in good standing in the relevant state(s).
• Regular involvement in hearings, trials, dispositive motion arguments, depositions, or other court proceedings.
• Ability to travel to necessary meetings and proceedings.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on location.
