This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Serve as the primary daily contact for clients, ensuring their goals are achieved.
• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction process.
• Provide cost planning and estimates, including the creation of the final cost plan.
• Collaborate with the design services team and general contractor in developing cost estimates.
• Liaise with the general contractor and project manager to collect status updates.
• Draft written feedback on the submissions from the general contractor.
• Organize all sources of cost information for discussions related to costs.
• Supervise cost checks and perform valuations on larger projects.
• Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions with stakeholders.
• Develop cost plans and estimates during the design phase at key milestones.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in a cost management position within the construction sector.
• RICS accreditation or progress towards it is preferred.
• Proven experience in leading cost management for medium to large construction projects with moderate to high complexity.
• Strongly preferred experience in construction consultancy.
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of the construction industry, including various procurement methods, value management, and value engineering.
