This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, sustain, and oversee project budgets from the award stage until closeout.
• Monitor actual costs in relation to budgets and commitments.
• Conduct thorough cost variance analysis and identify underlying issues.
• Maintain cost codes and guarantee precise cost allocation.
• Evaluate labor productivity, equipment usage, subcontractor expenses, and material costs.
• Oversee the utilization of project contingency and management reserves.
• Generate monthly Estimates at Completion (EAC) and Estimates to Complete (ETC).
• Anticipate labor hours, material expenses, subcontractor costs, equipment costs, and indirect costs.
• Assess financial implications of schedule delays and changes in scope.
• Provide reliable cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare weekly and monthly executive cost reports.
• Create dashboards that highlight: Budget vs Actual, Committed Cost, Forecast Cost, Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Productivity Metrics, and Cost Trends.
• Present financial performance to project leadership.
• Review change orders to evaluate their financial impact.
• Assist in pricing and negotiations for client and subcontractor change orders.
• Track pending changes and assess potential exposure.
• Ensure that all approved changes are reflected in project budgets and forecasts.
• Identify cost-related risks and opportunities.
• Conduct quantitative financial analysis.
• Suggest mitigation strategies.
• Support project risk registers.
• Aid in Earned Value Management (EVM) when applicable.
• Collaborate with Scheduling on progress measurement.
• Validate calculations of percent complete.
• Analyze the impact of schedules on project costs.
• Monitor purchase orders and subcontract commitments.
• Compare contract values against committed expenditures.
• Assist with procurement forecasting.
• Track material escalation and the effects of supply chain issues.
• Review monthly accruals.
• Support the validation of invoices.
• Assist in recognizing revenue.
• Reconcile project financial data between ERP systems and project controls software.
• Mentor junior cost analysts.
• Develop standardized reporting processes.
• Enhance cost control procedures and best practices.
• Participate in project financial reviews with executive leadership.
• 7–10+ years of experience in construction cost control.
• Experience with projects valued over $50M is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of: Construction estimating.
• Project controls.
