This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Develop, maintain, and review cost forecasts, accruals, and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Compile and analyze actual job cost data from accounting systems, preparing forecasting workbooks.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to assess change orders, confirm committed costs, and assist with scope change requests.
• Aid in the setup of project budgets and the development of earned value structures at the project's initiation.
• Ensure effective, clear, and timely communication of data and trends to Project/Operations Management.
• Support the Stage Gate Process by conducting thorough evaluations of project development and control deliverables.
• Perform analysis, optimization, and reporting on assigned projects, including assessing risk, cost, and schedule performance against multi-year budget plans.
• Utilize industry-standard KPIs and metrics for project cost analysis.
• Identify and document cost variances, recommending mitigation strategies to address potential impacts.
• Travel occasionally, as necessary.
• Over 7 years of experience in project controls, including cash flow forecasting and analysis.
• Preferred experience in utilities, gas pipeline, electric distribution/transmission/substation, or renewable energy construction projects.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Capable of adapting to changing priorities due to demands and timeline alterations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication abilities for effective interaction.
• Proficient in communicating with internal, client, and regulatory counterparts.
• Strong computer skills are essential.
• Willingness to learn and operate client-provided programs and systems.
• Reasoning Development: Ability to follow instructions provided in written or oral form; strong problem-solving aptitude.
• Mathematical Development: Ability to perform calculations involving electrical power.
• Capable of effectively managing multiple priorities and distinguishing urgent issues from those that are less critical.
• Develop project plans, order resources and materials, lead job kickoff meetings, and identify changes in work scopes.
• Ability to analyze information, facts, and data to draw logical conclusions.
• Perform well under pressure while ensuring the safety of others.
• Bachelor's degree required; preferred disciplines include accounting and business administration.
• Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, and Licenses: Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Word & Excel, and Power BI; able to create clearly written communications.
