Senior Corporate Counsel, Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable partner and the primary contact for both technical and non-technical teams at DigitalOcean.

• Perform thorough evaluations of legal risks associated with product development.

• Identify, evaluate, and facilitate the resolution of legal concerns pertaining to customer data, privacy, and security.

• Provide guidance on U.S. and international privacy laws as well as emerging regulations related to AI.

• Assist in the drafting and negotiation of intricate commercial agreements.

• Contribute to the long-term strategic direction of the product counsel function.

• Work collaboratively with the Security, Privacy, and Communications teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized law school and active membership in the bar of at least one U.S. state.

• Over 8 years of legal experience, with substantial in-house experience supporting SaaS, PaaS, and/or IaaS product development teams.

• Proven history of advising AI product and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Demonstrated ability to apply sound business judgment in assessing business and legal risks.

• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. and international privacy regulations, intellectual property, open-source software, artificial intelligence, and data security.

• Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial and technology contracts.

• Exceptional communication and collaborative problem-solving abilities.
