This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
β’ The Senior Corporate Accountant is essential in supporting BELAY's corporate accounting functions by guaranteeing the precision, integrity, and promptness of financial reporting and month-end closing activities.
β’ This position entails general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and aiding accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, closely collaborating with the Controller on financial reporting, audits, and enhancing processes.
β’ Prepare and input journal entries, including payroll, accruals, prepaids, and other adjustments for the month-end close.
β’ Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and verify that all supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
β’ Evaluate general ledger transactions to ensure expenses are accurately recorded in line with company policies and accounting standards.
β’ Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
β’ Compile weekly income reports for review by leadership.
β’ Process approved accounts payable payments on a weekly basis.
β’ Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including the reconciliation of Wingspan invoicing and payments.
β’ Distribute and manage monthly financial reports along with supporting documentation.
β’ Aid in internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and necessary documentation.
β’ Act as backup support for the Corporate Accountant when necessary.
β’ Collaborate with the Controller on special projects, financial analyses, and initiatives aimed at continuous process improvement.
β’ Recognize opportunities to enhance accounting processes, boost efficiency, and fortify internal controls.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
β’ 3β5 years of advancing accounting experience, including responsibilities related to general ledger accounting and month-end closures.
β’ Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
β’ Experience in preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and generating financial reports.
β’ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
β’ Outstanding organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
β’ High integrity and the ability to manage confidential financial information.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a quick aptitude for learning new financial systems and technologies.
β’ Capability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a remote team environment.
