This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +4 more states.
• Act as the technical lead for sophisticated microgrid control system projects, overseeing everything from sales handover to commissioning and ongoing support.
• Design, develop, implement, test, and troubleshoot microgrid control systems to guarantee successful delivery of projects.
• Lead both on-site and remote startup and commissioning activities, which includes the creation and execution of commissioning test plans.
• Provide high-level technical assistance for ongoing projects and operational microgrid systems, addressing and resolving customer issues effectively.
• Collaborate across various functions including Controls Engineering, Service, Commissioning, and Sales teams to achieve positive customer outcomes.
• Balance direct project execution with ongoing enhancements to project processes, standards, and quality.
• Mentor and assist team members through technical advice, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
• Clearly communicate project status, challenges, and advancements to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Over 5 years of experience in programming Industrial controls, PLCs, HMIs, and Industrial communication protocols.
• Formal training and/or education in Industrial Automation, Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems (MIS).
• More than 5 years of experience with three-phase AC power system controls and automation (preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience with the controls and automation of generators, energy storage systems, solar PV systems, protective relays, and switchgear (preferred).
• Comprehensive understanding of industrial communication protocols, particularly Modbus RTU/TCP and DNP3 (preferred).
• Advanced technical knowledge of power control philosophy in voltage-forming and voltage-following applications (preferred).
• Experience managing technical projects throughout the entire lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, commissioning, close-out, and support (preferred).
