Senior Controller, Hospitality Industry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Oversee all monthly accounting deliverables, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and consistent.

• Supervise daily accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow oversight.

• Manage daily task allocations and workflows for the accounting team, ensuring all work is completed within the designated timeframe.

• Enhance month-end closing processes for greater efficiency and advocate for continuous improvement initiatives.

• Act as the primary liaison for hotel communications, converting financial data into clear, actionable insights.

• Prepare and evaluate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages.

• Conduct variance analysis and collaborate with hotel leadership to interpret financial outcomes.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategy development.

• Ensure adherence to accounting principles, tax laws, and industry best practices within hospitality.

• Aid in audit preparation and coordination with external auditing teams.

• Facilitate a seamless transition alongside an in-house Senior Controller, ensuring process and control alignment.

• Mentor and develop junior accounting personnel, promoting robust hospitality accounting practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in hospitality accounting is essential — particularly as a hotel or complex controller managing daily accounting functions and month-end closings.

• Minimum of 5 years in a Lead Controller or Senior Controller position.

• Demonstrated experience in hospitality, hotel, or mixed-use property accounting settings.

• Familiarity with industry ERP systems (M3 preferred).

• Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.

• Strong leadership, organizational, and task management capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial audiences.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA preferred).
