This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and provide mentorship to the accounting team for designated clients
• Inspire the team to deliver exceptional service
• Offer coaching, timely feedback, and conduct staff evaluations
• Comprehend each client's distinct business and accounting requirements
• Deliver strategic direction for scalable accounting operations
• Ensure adherence to internal control systems, policies, and procedures
• Oversee month-end closing processes and the issuance of monthly financial reports
• Collaborate with client leadership on both operational and strategic matters
• Address client accounting inquiries and requests with appropriate follow-up, scope definition, prioritization, and delegation
• Prepare annual client budgets and manage cash forecasting tools
• Monitor budget performance and suggest necessary adjustments
• Create and assess financial and operational metrics and KPI dashboards
• Identify budget discrepancies and report significant variances
• Analyze financial and operational data to implement actions based on findings
• Spot trends, risks, and growth opportunities
• Provide actionable insights to senior leadership
• Conduct regular client conference calls to discuss strategy, needs, and operational changes
• Assist in the collection of tax-related information
• Coordinate information for external audits
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
• Review and authorize monthly and quarterly tax submissions
• Complete special projects as requested by clients
• Report to an Assistant Director
• Experience in outsourced accounting
• Transferable expertise in accounting and financial analysis for businesses within the $5M to $25M range
• A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience
• Experience in the manufacturing sector, particularly with strong inventory knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA license, CMA, or MBA preferred
• Adaptive leadership style with a passion for mentoring team members
• Proven experience managing accounting functions for small to medium-sized enterprises
• Ability to adjust to changing priorities
• Technical and analytical skills to address complex issues and develop creative solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, and/or other accounting software
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Capability to make swift decisions based on knowledge and experience
• Ability to operate within established standards and guidelines
• Capacity to adapt to various client environments
• High level of computer literacy
• Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
• Willingness to travel as necessary
