Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and coordinate the preparation of financial statements for a portfolio of clients.

• Manage a team of assistant controllers and accountants.

• Engage regularly with clients and auditors.

• Ensure that accounting practices adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

• Oversee the accounting activities of a designated team of accountants.

• Guarantee the timely delivery of financial statements as per client deadlines.

• Discuss property financial performance with clients and address accounting inquiries.

• Verify the accuracy of financial statements generated by the accounting team.

• Review rent rolls, reconcile bank statements, and track monthly operating results against budgets.

• Collaborate with operational team members to develop and approve property financial budgets.

• Work alongside the Controller, CFO, and Assistant Controllers to align on departmental goals, policies, and procedures.

• Participate in recruitment and conduct annual performance evaluations.

• Enhance efficiency and provide staffing recommendations.

• Assist with audit requests and suggest improvements to procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

• CPA Eligible or CPA Preferred.

• Strong critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical abilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of financial concepts.

• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
