This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Create automation and SCADA systems for mechanical and electrical components in intricate data center and mission-critical infrastructure initiatives.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and ICT design teams on control sequences, diagrams, point lists, network architectures, and structured ethernet cabling interfaces.
• Design robust OT networks utilizing ethernet and serial networks across wireless, fiber, and copper mediums.
• Develop the foundational design for BAS, PLC, and PMS controllers, instrumentation, and software, including datasheets.
• Create and customize technical specifications for controls, instrumentation, cybersecurity, and power-monitoring.
• Implement BAS, EPMS, and PLC protocols including Modbus, BACnet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Ensure compliance with relevant US codes and engineering standards.
• Utilize templated models and monitor and rationalize changes from client models.
• Coordinate among various disciplines to achieve cohesive designs.
• Participate in project meetings and calls, manage timelines and budgets, and adapt to deadlines effectively.
• Work in collaboration with global teams on prominent data center projects.
• Occasionally travel for client meetings, project milestones, onsite collaboration, or other critical business activities.
• Bachelor's Degree with over 8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
• At least four years of experience as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer or controls contractor responsible for creating control submittals.
• Familiarity with BAS and PLC control system platforms.
• Knowledge of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS).
• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.
• Experience working in data center or other mission-critical environments.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of US codes and standards.
• Experience with Operational Technology Networks.
• Proficiency with SCADA platforms.
• Ability to specify technical cybersecurity requirements.
• Willingness to work flexible hours for project meetings and calls.
• Capability to schedule work and adhere to budget expectations.
• Strong multitasking skills, adaptability to project deadlines, and ability to work collaboratively.
