Senior Contador – English Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Prepare and assist in the full-cycle preparation of financial statements.

• Aid in the month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Ensure the timely and accurate development of monthly financial reports and related schedules.

• Conduct variance analysis against departmental budgets and identify significant financial trends.

• Review Profit & Loss statements to guarantee correct coding, allocations, and classifications across departments.

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

• Assist with accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and other month-end accounting entries.

• Help ensure that accounting records are accurate, comprehensive, and well-documented.

• Support the reconciliation processes associated with deferred revenue and unbilled Accounts Receivable.

• Aid in revenue recognition for SaaS subscriptions, usage-based, recurring, or contract-based billing models.

• Review revenue-related information to ensure precision, completeness, and adequate support.

• Assist with accounting treatments related to SaaS, technology, or operations with recurring revenue.

• Maintain precise reconciliation schedules and supporting documents.

• Help manage accounting activities related to fixed assets, including additions, disposals, amortization, and depreciation.

• Support equity-related accounting processes, including stock-based compensation or ESOP-related accounting, when applicable.

• Assist with research on sales tax and economic nexus across U.S. states and international jurisdictions.

• Support year-end closing, audit requests, and processes related to compliance.

• Contribute to finance team projects, system enhancements, and operational initiatives.

• Identify process inefficiencies and proactively suggest scalable solutions.

• Assist in optimizing workflows as the company continues to expand.

• Communicate financial concepts effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

• Assist internal teams with accounting inquiries and financial reporting requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A professional accounting designation is required, such as Colombian Public Accountant certification, CPA, or an equivalent qualification.

• 3–6+ years of accounting experience.

• Strong expertise in financial statements, month-end closures, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Experience with U.S. accounting practices, U.S.-based companies, or international accounting settings is highly preferred.

• Background in SaaS, technology, startups, subscription-based businesses, or recurring revenue models is advantageous.

• Knowledge of deferred revenue, accruals, unbilled AR, and revenue recognition.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research capabilities.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.

• Capability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and meet deadlines.

• Strong English communication skills are essential for cross-functional collaboration.
