This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Oversee daily bookkeeping functions for various client accounts
• Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheets
• Ensure precise financial record-keeping utilizing Xero and other cloud-based accounting platforms
• Aid in the preparation of BAS and compliance-related accounting activities
• Generate monthly management reports, financial statements, and accompanying schedules
• Scrutinize financial data for accuracy and detect discrepancies or unusual transactions
• Assist with cash flow reporting and analyzing financial performance
• Contribute to tax planning, support tasks, and year-end accounting needs
• Compile workpapers and documentation for senior accountants and external parties
• Collaborate with internal accounting personnel to meet client deadlines
• Keep organized and audit-ready financial records
• Offer proactive suggestions to enhance financial processes and the quality of reporting
• Deliver high-quality, commercially oriented accounting services and support to a varied client portfolio
• Assist in researching and interpreting Australian taxation laws and accounting regulations as needed
• Support senior accountants and advisors in tax planning, compliance, and advisory projects
• Establish and nurture strong professional relationships with clients through effective communication and proactive assistance
• Employ a variety of accounting software and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy across client projects
• At least 3+ years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping
• Strong technical accounting and taxation expertise, with a comprehensive understanding of relevant Australian legislation and regulations
• Familiarity with Division 7A Loans, Unpaid Present Entitlements (UPEs), Capital Gains Tax (CGT) concessions, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), and Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs)
• Documented experience delivering high-quality, commercially focused accounting services to clients
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling the building of enduring client relationships
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proficient in accounting software and financial technologies
• Advanced experience with Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks accounting software platforms
• Background in supporting Australian clients, accounting firms, or bookkeeping practices
• Solid grasp of Australian bookkeeping principles, accounting processes, and taxation requirements within a small business context
• Experience with BAS preparation and compliance-related responsibilities
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Capability to manage multiple client files and competing priorities
