This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Collaborate as a key member of customer projects, concentrating on design, architecture, integration, implementation, and documentation.
• Execute research, benchmarking, performance and functional testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, integration, development, and tooling.
• Offer case-initiated consultative support to strategic users, customers, and prospects, aiding with implementation, onboarding, production launches, and Proof of Concepts.
• Deliver architectural, technical, and migration support, including hands-on tasks.
• Manage L1 to L3 support cases and communications when not engaged in customer projects.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales on product roadmaps and account strategies.
• Create public and internal documentation, Knowledge Base articles, ClickHouse Learning content, reference architectures, blogs, and benchmark results.
• Assist in the recruitment and mentoring of new team members.
• Support scheduling and on-call requirements for high-quality 24x7 assistance in a global, distributed environment, which may involve up to 35% estimated onsite regional travel.
• Over 5 years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management roles.
• More than 5 years of pertinent industry experience in implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed database management systems.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge in DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, system or network administration, and big data.
• Proven experience in leading and delivering large-scale technical projects with multiple seasoned engineers.
• Proficiency with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-a-service solutions like EC2.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to excel in a customer-facing environment.
• Availability for scheduling and on-call responsibilities in a global, distributed setting.
• Capacity to provide onsite regional customer support travel, estimated at up to 35%.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse, open-source technologies, or data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, or RabbitMQ is a plus.
