Senior Consultant – Financial Services Risk Management, Python, SAS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain analytical and quantitative solutions with a strong focus on Python and SAS.

• Execute data extraction, transformation, and analysis on extensive and intricate datasets from financial institutions.

• Create, automate, and refine risk models, calculations, and reporting processes utilizing Python and SAS.

• Assist in model development, validation, and monitoring activities (e.g., credit risk, market risk, capital, IFRS 9, stress testing).

• Develop robust, efficient, and reusable Python and SAS code in accordance with best practices.

• Convert regulatory and business requirements into technical and analytical implementations.

• Produce high-quality technical documentation, analysis outputs, and client-ready deliverables.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (risk, regulatory, technology, and business).

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience working with Python and SAS, preferably in a financial services or consulting environment.

• Strong practical expertise in: Python (pandas, numpy, scripting, automation, analytical workflows) and SAS (data processing, analytical procedures, risk calculations, reporting).

• Experience in handling large datasets and complex data structures.

• An academic background in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.

• A solid understanding of risk management or regulatory analytics as applied to financial institutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
