This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Facilitate the implementation of Red Hat’s solutions in major enterprise accounts, government entities, and partner service providers, while overseeing delivery projects and assisting customers through effective pilot and production rollouts.
• Establish strong connections with customer engineering, development, and operations teams by aligning their technical needs and use cases with the functional strengths of Red Hat’s offerings.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams from Red Hat’s solutions, Product Engineering, Support, Professional Services, and Sales departments to address the demands of our most challenging clients.
• Conduct successful discovery, analysis, and design workshops for small to medium-sized teams with both technical and non-technical backgrounds, helping to define customer use cases and architectural design choices.
• Design, develop, and present content that empowers the wider Red Hat organization to effectively sell, service, and support Red Hat’s cloud solutions on a large scale.
• Play a role in crafting repeatable methodologies and tools aimed at enhancing Red Hat’s service capabilities, encouraging consistent customer interactions, and minimizing delivery risks.
• Showcase vision and knowledge within the cloud community by creating exceptional white papers, webinars, and similar materials, as well as participating as a speaker at prominent industry events.
• Act as a customer advocate within Red Hat to provide optimal solutions and ensure their implementation and support are both innovative and dependable.
• A Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or a similar role.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in:
• Cloud-native integration utilizing Apache Camel / Red Hat FUSE, and applying architectural patterns to implement, test, and deploy integration services based on OpenShift;
• Java application and microservice development, including the packaging and deployment of multi-tiered Java applications, implementation of unit and integration tests, enabling health checks, tracing, and monitoring, using technologies such as Quarkus or Spring Framework, and deploying these applications to OpenShift;
• Building, operating, and managing containers with Podman and Red Hat OpenShift, resolving container dependencies, and troubleshooting network connectivity between containers while providing persistent container storage;
• Understanding and applying general troubleshooting methods, including diagnosing application issues, monitoring distributed transactions using Jaeger, performing root cause analysis, and gathering information to support third-party investigations of issues in an OpenShift environment;
• Configuring OpenShift, which includes deploying packaged applications with manifests, templates, Kustomize, and Helm, along with configuring user and application authentication and authorization;
• Managing OpenShift operations, including securing network traffic with policies and controlled access, enabling developer self-service, and overseeing OpenShift cluster and Kubernetes operator updates.
• At least one (1) year of experience contributing to open-source projects, fixing existing bugs, adding new features, and assisting other users in community channels.
• This position may also qualify for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
