
Senior Consultant – AI Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.
• Facilitate the creation of AI strategies and roadmaps that align with the agency's mission, priorities, and operational realities.
• Provide guidance to leadership regarding AI investment planning, prioritization of use cases, and realization of value.
• Lead engagements with stakeholders to evaluate organizational readiness, data maturity, and considerations for change.
• Convert intricate AI concepts into concise, actionable recommendations suitable for both business and non-technical audiences.
• Identify and outline high-impact AI use cases across various programs, operations, and service delivery avenues.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of AI technologies and solutions, taking vendor and platform factors into account.
• Formulate frameworks for the responsible adoption of AI, encompassing governance, risk management, and oversight.
• Conduct workshops and working sessions that involve business, IT, and data teams.
• Aid in early-stage implementation planning, which includes defining operating models, workforce impacts, and strategies for adoption.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Must reside within the United States and be a US citizen.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a federal public trust clearance.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in consulting, strategy, or technology advisory roles.
• Proven experience in supporting AI initiatives.
• Strong grasp of AI concepts and technologies, including LLMs, GenAI, machine learning, and automation.
• Experience in translating technical capabilities into business-relevant strategies and actionable plans.
• Ability to lead discussions with executive leadership and technical teams.
• Experience in crafting strategy documents, roadmaps, and investment plans.
• Excellent communication skills to distill complex topics for non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated capability to navigate ambiguous environments and develop practical, solution-focused strategies.
• Some travel may be necessary during critical project milestones.
• Preferred: experience working with state health or human services agencies.
• Preferred: experience in transforming contact center operations and applying AI for customer engagement or service delivery.
• Preferred: experience in evaluating and implementing AI solutions to enhance public sector workforce productivity and citizen-facing services.
• Preferred: familiarity with responsible AI, governance, and risk management frameworks in a government context.
• Preferred: experience in cross-functional environments involving policy, program, and technology stakeholders.
