Senior Consultant, AI Data Engineering – Microsoft Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design and execute advanced data platforms and engineering solutions.

• Create data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, semantic data models, and data products for Analytics, AI, and GenAI applications.

• Integrate Data Engineering and AI Engineering, with an emphasis on RAG architectures, Conversational BI, AI-driven data products, and LLM-based solutions.

• Develop and incorporate AI agents and agentic components for pipeline creation, data quality assurance, automation, monitoring, and self-service analytics.

• Utilize Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and dbt to create scalable data and AI solutions.

• Design comprehensive architectures that span the data lifecycle, covering source integration, transformation, governance, quality assurance, and consumption.

• Provide consultancy to clients regarding technology choices, target architectures, migration plans, platform modernization, and the integration of AI into data strategies.

• Manage workstreams or projects, ensuring pragmatic execution, technical excellence, and tangible client value.

• Contribute to best practices, reusable assets, technical standards, and innovation initiatives for the Data & AI portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated professional experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Platforms, or Data & AI Consulting.

• Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, data models, lakehouse architectures, or cloud data warehouse solutions.

• Strong command of SQL and proficiency in Python or PySpark.

• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, APIs, data quality frameworks, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, and Microsoft Power Platform.

• Knowledge of modern data platforms that support AI, Generative AI, and advanced analytics.

• Desirable practical experience with LLM-based applications, RAG, Agentic AI, Azure AI Foundry, MLOps, or LLMOps.

• Strong architectural mindset that aligns business requirements with data platforms, AI applications, and operations.

• Structured and pragmatic approach to work.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Fluent in German at a minimum C1 level.

• Proficient in the English language.

• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
