Senior Consultant, AI Data Engineering – Microsoft Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Develop and design contemporary data platforms and engineering solutions.

• Construct data pipelines, lakehouse frameworks, semantic data models, and data products tailored for Analytics, AI, and GenAI applications.

• Connect Data Engineering with AI Engineering, emphasizing RAG architectures, Conversational BI, AI-driven data products, and LLM-based solutions.

• Create and integrate AI agents and agentic components to enhance pipeline development, maintain data quality, automate processes, monitor systems, and facilitate self-service analytics.

• Utilize Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and dbt to devise scalable data and AI solutions.

• Craft comprehensive architectures that encompass source systems, integration, transformation, governance, quality assurance, and consumption via AI, BI, and business applications.

• Provide guidance to clients on technology choices, target architectures, migration plans, platform upgrades, and AI incorporation into data strategies.

• Manage workstreams or projects, ensuring practical execution, technical excellence, and measurable business value for clients.

• Contribute to best practices, reusable resources, technical standards, and innovation initiatives within the Data & AI portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated professional experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Platforms, or Data & AI Consulting, preferably in a consulting, delivery, or project-driven environment.

• Practical experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, data models, lakehouse architectures, or cloud data warehouse solutions.

• Strong expertise in SQL and Python or PySpark.

• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, APIs, data quality frameworks, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, and Microsoft Power Platform.

• Comprehension of modern data platforms that support AI, Generative AI, and advanced analytics.

• Practical experience with LLM-based applications, RAG, Agentic AI, Azure AI Foundry, MLOps, or LLMOps is highly preferred.

• Strong architectural perspective linking business needs, data platforms, AI applications, and operational factors.

• Organized and pragmatic approach to work.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Proficiency in German at a minimum C1 level.

• Competency in the English language.

• Willingness to travel to client locations as necessary.
