This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Providing consultation on intricate technical accounting issues, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders (such as auditors) to uphold policy compliance.
• Managing accounting policies for designated areas of responsibility.
• Offering specialized knowledge on technical accounting policies and compliance matters.
• Assisting in deal structuring from the outset to secure the desired accounting treatment.
• Staying informed about current and upcoming accounting standards, evaluating their implications, and working with management to ensure correct application of these standards.
• Drafting and reviewing accounting policies for complex transactions while ensuring alignment with accepted accounting standards and principles.
• Supervising and reviewing new disclosures (e.g., 10K and 10Q), ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statement footnotes.
• Detecting complex accounting issues or concerns and proposing mitigation strategies to management.
• Communicating updates on new and emerging technical accounting policy developments for both US GAAP and Statutory accounting to managers and executives across Lincoln.
• Identifying and collaboratively resolving complex issues with internal and/or external auditors.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years of experience in lieu of a degree) (Minimum Required)
• 5–7+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including Big 4 public accounting, directly aligned with the specific duties of this role (Required)
• Active CPA license (Required)
• Prior experience in investment accounting is highly desirable, as is knowledge of treasury and/or derivatives accounting.
• Experience with AI tools to aid in accounting research and documentation is preferred but not mandatory.
