This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee and direct multidisciplinary design evaluations encompassing architecture, civil, structural, MEP, systems, and specialty fields.
• Develop design review strategies, workflows, and quality benchmarks that align with program specifications.
• Ensure that design packages comply with regulatory, code, and client criteria, including FAA, airport authority, and local jurisdiction standards.
• Coordinate with design consultants, engineering teams, and subject matter experts to address comments, conflicts, and technical challenges.
• Facilitate workshops for design reviews, technical coordination meetings, and sessions focused on issue resolution.
• Guarantee consistency between design intent, operational demands, and construction viability.
• Spearhead constructability assessments and ensure design packages facilitate efficient, safe, and cost-effective construction processes.
• Collaborate with construction managers, schedulers, and cost teams to harmonize design with delivery sequencing, phasing, and budget limitations.
• Identify design-related risks, gaps, and opportunities for enhancement.
• Manage the schedules, deliverables, and key milestones of design reviews.
• Monitor progress, assess consultant performance, and escalate risks that may affect design delivery.
• Ensure prompt completion of design packages and their readiness for procurement and construction.
• Supervise QA/QC procedures for all design submissions.
• Confirm adherence to codes, standards, and program design criteria.
• Maintain documentation, comment logs, and audit trails for every design review cycle.
• Act as the primary contact for design review communications with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Prepare and present clear and concise design review reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
• Over 10 years of experience in design management, project management, or engineering for significant capital programs.
• Strong expertise in aviation, transportation, or large infrastructure initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary design reviews.
• Comprehensive understanding of design standards, codes, and regulatory mandates.
• Capability to manage complex stakeholder groups and facilitate the resolution of technical issues.
• Outstanding communication, coordination, and leadership abilities.
• As per federal contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust security clearance.
