This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Function as an internal consultant offering extensive compensation and policy assistance to HR, managers, and staff.

• Conduct thorough job evaluations for newly created or modified positions, addressing classification, exemption status, and market-competitive salary assessments.

• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of compensation and job evaluation data.

• Confirm job requirements via job analysis, interviews, questionnaires, and observation of responsibilities.

• Create, review, and revise job descriptions in collaboration with HR and business leaders.

• Facilitate career pathways, job architecture, and career ladders.

• Generate reports summarizing job analysis, evaluation, career mapping, and compensation details.

• Execute compensation analyses and market pricing, including FLSA testing and classification.

• Develop ad hoc analyses, reports, and decision-support materials for complex compensation inquiries.

• Complete compensation survey submissions and evaluate outcomes.

• Assist with mid-year and annual merit compensation planning processes.

• Create or modify processes, procedures, and guidelines for compensation programs.

• Audit, maintain, and enhance systems utilized for compensation.

• Educate managers and employees on compensation philosophy and pay-for-performance strategies.

• Lead or engage in specialized compensation projects and competitive industry evaluations.

• Remain informed on compensation-related subjects through training and technical literature.

• Aid in the design, communication, and management of cash compensation, short-term incentives, and long-term equity programs.

• Support tracking of employee job description acknowledgments.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resources, finance, psychology, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of progressive compensation experience within a Human Resources environment.

• Understanding of compensation theory and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, minimum wage, overtime, and record-keeping obligations.

• Experience in constructing compensation models and undertaking detailed pay analyses.

• Familiarity with compensation survey data; experience with Radford and Mercer industry surveys is preferred.

• Proficiency in developing and assessing job architecture, career ladders, salary frameworks, market pricing, job grading, and competitive analysis.

• Ability to effectively engage with managers and HR partners, providing compensation analysis and advisory services.

• Capability to clearly articulate and present technical information and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Intermediate-to-advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Competence in creating and navigating complex spreadsheets utilizing formulas, pivot tables, and charts.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic growth environment and manage uncertainty.

• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.

• Capacity to manage highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

• Willingness to travel for company events, team meetings, and/or industry conferences.

• Master’s Degree in business administration, human resources, finance, psychology, or a related field is preferred.

• At least 1 year of corporate or consulting experience in life sciences or healthcare is preferred.

• CCP, GRP, or related compensation certification is highly preferred.

• PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

• Experience in life sciences is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of and experience with short- and long-term incentives.

• Background in related HR areas such as HRIS, Benefits/Total Rewards, or Recruiting.

• Experience with HRIS and compensation management systems like Workday and PayScale/Payfactors.

• Experience working in a publicly traded company.
