This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Oversee the daily operations of the dbt Slack community.
• Collaborate with community leaders and internal stakeholders to enhance channel strategy, community guidelines, and engagement initiatives.
• Design and implement scalable moderation and support workflows, including enforcement of the Code of Conduct.
• Mentor and assist moderators and community champions; recruit and onboard new moderators.
• Establish content systems that include announcements, highlights, prompts, and community storytelling.
• Present community insights and member feedback to Product, Marketing, and Support teams, and ensure feedback is communicated back to the community.
• Track and report on engagement and health metrics, and conduct improvement experiments.
• Manage the community tool stack, which includes Slack workflows, analytics, knowledge base, integrations, and web portal.
• Organize and coordinate incident response alongside Legal, People, and Security teams as necessary.
• Facilitate cross-channel digital engagement across community forums, social media, and events.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital community management, online engagement, or community program management in a global or distributed setting.
• Proven experience managing day-to-day operations for a large online community such as Slack, Discord, or a forum.
• Familiarity with moderation, member support, and maintaining community health.
• Strong knowledge of online community dynamics.
• Experience in developing and enhancing moderation and support workflows, including Code of Conduct enforcement.
• Exceptional written communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to respond clearly and empathetically, de-escalate conflicts, and foster productive discussions.
• Proficient in using community tools and analytics, such as Slack workflows, Common Room, or comparable platforms.
• Data-driven decision-making skills, including defining engagement and health KPIs, measuring impact, and reporting results.
• Strong ability to collaborate across functions.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to communication differences across various regions and time zones.
• High emotional intelligence with a comfort level in navigating conflict, ambiguity, and sensitive topics.
• Capability to prioritize multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
