Community Growth – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Promote the adoption of the Walrus Protocol, a Verifiable Data Platform designed for AI developers.

• Discover, scout, identify, and prioritize opportunities within AI-native and non-web3 communities.

• Establish and nurture authentic relationships with targeted communities.

• Foster engagement and support activation after establishing relationships.

• Engage in community discussions; monitor themes, inquiries, challenges, and emerging trends.

• Share community insights during regular meetings to guide community program planning.

• Assist in developing Reddit strategies, moderation, and content sourcing with the moderation team.

• Perform initial reviews of community program applications.

• Evaluate program participants and winners alongside the program lead.

• Aid in the setup of new programs, including websites, documentation, and logistics.

• Coordinate and manage moderators in collaboration with the lead moderator on Discord.

• Ensure visibility across events by monitoring status and next steps.

• Support logistics for in-person events.

• Assist in the preparation of X Spaces and AMAs.

• Develop and maintain a system to track event status and feedback while consistently capturing outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven, active engagement within AI-focused, builder, or other non-web3 online communities — demonstrating not just familiarity, but genuine standing, relationships, or a history of participation and reputation.

• Experience in initiating and cultivating relationships with new communities, rather than solely managing existing ones.

• Comfortable adapting and localizing existing programs for new audiences, collaborating closely with program leads for execution.

• Strong organizational abilities and process discipline — capable of independently managing applications, evaluations, and payment workflows without oversight.

• Experience in coordinating or supporting events.

• Familiarity with Discord, Reddit, X, and/or other platforms used for community engagement.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey technical or product concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, often unpredictable environment.

• Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based.
