Senior Community Development Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee a dynamic pipeline of employer relationships within designated communities.

• Promote awareness of the ACT WorkKeys NCRC and facilitate the adoption of WorkKeys workforce tools.

• Build connections with chambers of commerce and economic development organizations.

• Position the Work Ready Community certification as a valuable asset for workforce and talent attraction.

• Manage a portfolio of Work Ready Community areas and monitor their certification progress.

• Identify opportunities for advancement and drive necessary actions to help communities progress.

• Increase the distribution of WorkKeys curriculum licenses, assessments, and credentials.

• Collaborate with ACT Sales on contract execution.

• Link communities to federal and state workforce funding sources.

• Foster partnerships among employers, training providers, workforce boards, and educational partners.

• Maintain comprehensive records in the CRM pipeline.

• Provide consistent reports on employer acquisition, community development, and product expansion.

• Complete onboarding and gain proficiency in the Work Ready Community framework and WorkKeys product suite.

• Cultivate relationships with communities and chambers and establish an employer outreach pipeline.

• Drive recognitions among employers, community advancements, and revenue growth for WorkKeys products.

• Operate independently across the portfolio while contributing to overarching Work Ready Community strategic objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management, business development, or economic development with proven growth results.

• Experience in managing a portfolio of accounts or community/government partnerships.

• Proven record in selling or positioning workforce, education, or credentialing solutions to employers or workforce organizations.

• Proficient in CRM systems and exhibit strong pipeline management practices.

• Exceptional presentation and communication skills for diverse internal and external audiences at all organizational levels.

• Willingness to travel 30–50% within the assigned region.

• Preference for candidates based in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, or Michigan.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economic Development, Workforce Development, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.

• Finalists will undergo a criminal background check.

• Completion of the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate is recommended.

• Preferred: Master’s degree in business, economic development, workforce development, or a related field.

• Preferred: Knowledge of federal workforce funding programs such as WIOA or Perkins.

• Preferred: Experience with chambers of commerce, economic development corporations, or workforce investment boards.

• Preferred: Background in consultative or solution selling within a B2B or government-related context.

• Preferred: Familiarity with ACT WorkKeys products and the NCRC credentialing ecosystem.
