Senior Commissioning Manager – APAC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Lead the commissioning process: Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), power plant networks, and Balance of Plant systems.

• Provide technical oversight: Evaluate electrical engineering designs and documents to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. Create and implement technical documentation for commissioning procedures.

• Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams: Collaborate with electrical, civil, mechanical, network, and software engineering teams to guarantee seamless integration and successful project delivery.

• Schedule management: Organize, plan, and oversee multiple commissioning projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution while adhering to budget constraints.

• Quality assurance: Together with the HSEQ Manager, define and uphold quality benchmarks, ensuring that all systems comply with operational and safety regulations.

• Stakeholder communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing consistent updates and addressing any concerns throughout the installation and commissioning processes.

• Team development: Guide and train commissioning engineers, promoting a culture of ongoing improvement and professional advancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in delivering electrical systems, including Power Plants, Substations, and Battery Energy Storage projects.

• At least 3 years in a leadership or management position, overseeing commissioning of BESS projects.

• Comprehensive understanding of SCADA standards and related products.

• Expertise in network troubleshooting, including communication interfaces such as fiber-optic, serial interface, and direct signal interface.

• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC DA/OPC UA, DNP3).

• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and tools such as Visio or AutoCAD.

• Knowledge of IEC standards (e.g., IEC-61850, IEC-61870-104-5).

• Outstanding attention to detail and organizational prowess.

• Capability to lead teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% for project oversight and execution.
