Senior Commercial Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist legal and business teams with commercial and strategic transactions in North America, which include aircraft sales and financing, services, and procurement.

• Facilitate communication among relevant business units for commercial and strategic transactions.

• Draft and negotiate contracts that support the sales, finance, and procurement of products and services.

• Oversee cross-functional and cross-jurisdictional relationships among Airbus's commercial and legal teams.

• Offer legal support to various departments including sales, contracts, customer service, engineering, manufacturing, finance, procurement, litigation, HR, government relations, safety, quality, information management, R&T, strategy, and communications.

• Provide support to all North American locations and Airbus affiliates in North America.

• Safeguard Airbus’s contractual interests, identify risk factors, and ensure compliance with company policies as well as applicable laws and regulations.

• Formulate strategies to reduce Airbus’s risk exposure.

• Collaborate with the North American Ethics & Compliance team and assist in implementing Ethics & Compliance policies and initiatives.

• Provide guidance in alignment with the global Legal & Compliance team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from a recognized law school.

• At least 5 years of experience in a reputable law firm and/or relevant in-house roles.

• Admitted to the Bar and in good standing with a license to practice law in at least one U.S. State.

• Authorized to work in the United States.

• Strong background in corporate and transactional law.

• Extensive knowledge of the aerospace sector.

• Significant experience in finance and commercial transactions.

• Excellent analytical and project management skills.

• Ability to handle multiple complex projects while managing competing priorities and deadlines.

• Experience in international settings or multicultural environments is highly preferred.

• Fluency in English is mandatory.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Gsuite / Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe).

• Proficient in Westlaw.

• Willingness to travel independently and at short notice on a monthly basis.

• Capable of lifting documents, drawings, and electronic equipment weighing up to 15 lbs.

• Required personal protective equipment may include safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and protective gloves as mandated by site or customer requirements.
