Senior CMDB Engineer – ServiceNow, HAM/SAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Accountable for designing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing CMDB, HAM, and SAM functionalities within the ServiceNow platform.

• Ensures the precision, integrity, and operational value of configuration and asset data across the organization.

• Facilitates governance, automation, discovery, and lifecycle management initiatives.

• Collaborates closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, procurement, and platform teams.

• Aids in aligning with the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) to support standardized service-aware operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience with ServiceNow CMDB, HAM, SAM, or similar platform capabilities.

• Strong grasp of CMDB architecture, CI relationships, Discovery, Service Mapping, and principles of data governance.

• In-depth understanding of ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) concepts, service relationships, and best practices for CMDB governance.

• Proven experience with ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) processes and implementations.

• Experience in designing and supporting integrations utilizing REST APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Servers, or web services.

• Familiarity with ITIL processes, specifically Configuration Management, Asset Management, Incident, Change, and Problem Management.

• Proficient in ServiceNow reporting, dashboards, and data quality management.

• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure concepts, including servers, cloud resources, networks, virtualization, and software lifecycle management.

• Experience working within Agile and SDLC delivery models.

• ServiceNow CSA certification is mandatory.

• Preferred certifications include ServiceNow HAM, SAM, Discovery, or CMDB-related credentials.

• ITIL Foundation v3 or ITIL 4 certification is required.
