Senior Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and automate security measures for cloud infrastructure within AWS and GCP environments.

• Maintain, integrate, and enhance cloud security tools, specifically focusing on cloud security posture management and vulnerability platforms.

• Investigate and resolve security vulnerabilities in cloud infrastructure until they are fully addressed.

• Create and implement zero-trust access controls across cloud and Kubernetes settings.

• Collaborate with incident response teams to establish cloud infrastructure detections and analyze as well as mitigate security incidents impacting products.

• Develop security standards and guidelines for engineering teams, incorporating them into CI/CD and GitOps workflows.

• Work alongside compliance teams on ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR requirements, translating these into technical controls.

• Conduct architecture reviews, threat modeling, and code assessments with engineering and product teams.

• Independently lead security projects from scoping and planning through to completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in cloud security or security-centric infrastructure/DevOps engineering.

• Practical experience in securing containerized environments and managing Kubernetes.

• Strong proficiency in AWS; familiarity with GCP is also preferred.

• Experience utilizing infrastructure-as-code solutions.

• Proficient in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as Python, for automation purposes.

• Experience with cloud security posture management or comparable security tools.

• Capability to take ownership of problems from beginning to end and to drive projects with minimal supervision.

• Excellent communication skills across various teams.

• Preferred: experience with multiple cloud providers, CI/CD and DevOps/GitOps security integration, threat modeling, security architecture reviews, compliance requirements, participation in security communities/open source/security research, and relevant certifications such as CKS.
