This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and oversee the structure, networking, and foundational infrastructure of GCP projects.
• Take ownership of Kubernetes cluster infrastructure, including provisioning, upgrades, scaling, and ensuring reliability.
• Establish and uphold standards and patterns for infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
• Enhance system architecture to improve scalability, resilience, and overall performance.
• Create reusable infrastructure patterns that can be safely utilized by product teams.
• Minimize friction for developers while ensuring robust guardrails are in place.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to refine the deployment and operational processes of services.
• Manage and advance foundational observability systems, including metrics, logging, and tracing.
• Develop and sustain infrastructure for secrets management, IAM, and security primitives.
• Ensure that infrastructure is secure by default, rather than as an exception.
• Enhance the reliability of infrastructure and mitigate systemic risks.
• Lead and participate in incident response efforts involving infrastructure issues.
• Identify and eliminate potential failure modes and bottlenecks at the infrastructure level.
• Promote visibility and optimization of cloud costs.
• Develop systems and practices that balance performance, reliability, and cost considerations.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure that infrastructure investments align with business objectives.
• Shape the infrastructure strategy across various teams and services.
• Promote the adoption of standards and best practices throughout the engineering organization.
• Identify systemic challenges and spearhead cross-team improvements.
• 5–10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or comparable cloud services and distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in:
• Networking (VPCs, load balancing, DNS).
• Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar tools).
• Proven experience in building and managing production-scale infrastructure systems.
• Proficient programming/scripting skills (Go, Python, etc.) for automation and tooling purposes.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and influence technical direction effectively.
