This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design, develop, and maintain AWS infrastructure utilizing infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Provide support for both production and non-production environments, emphasizing availability, performance, and security.
• Execute backend infrastructure operations, which include server management, updates, storage, failover, and logging.
• Construct and uphold core AWS services across computing, networking, storage, and identity (such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch).
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, and security teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.
• Integrate infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines to facilitate dependable and repeatable deployments.
• Implement practices for monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
• Investigate incidents, contribute to root cause analysis, and promote continuous improvement.
• Support security, compliance, and audit needs within cloud environments, particularly in regulated or security-sensitive areas.
• Work with cloud partners and vendors, including AWS and third parties, on architecture reviews and optimizations.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks to minimize manual intervention.
• Document infrastructure, standards, and operational procedures.
• A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience with AWS in production settings.
• In-depth knowledge of essential AWS services such as VPC, IAM, EC2, containers, storage, and monitoring.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (for instance, Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar).
• Understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity management.
• Experience supporting highly available, business-critical systems.
• Familiarity with cloud migration projects.
• Experience in integrating infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Exposure to containerized workloads or orchestration platforms (like ECS, EKS).
• Experience in regulated or security-focused environments.
• Proven ability to work with distributed teams.
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator) are advantageous.
