Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of intricate Azure infrastructure solutions.

• Guarantee scalability, security, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud infrastructure.

• Advocate for Infrastructure as Code and automation across all environments.

• Establish best practices and standards for infrastructure automation.

• Architect, configure, and enhance Kubernetes clusters for optimal availability, security, and performance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support microservices architectures and application modernization.

• Develop and refine CI/CD pipelines, operational tools, and observability practices.

• Utilize AI-assisted tools for infrastructure design, code creation, documentation, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing, with human oversight.

• Create governed patterns for AI services in infrastructure workflows, covering identity, access control, data protection, auditability, and cost management.

• Implement AI- and machine learning-enabled observability to detect anomalies, correlate signals, prioritize incidents, and enhance root-cause analysis.

• Assess opportunities for AI-enabled automation and execute measurable enhancements to reliability, engineering productivity, and operational responsiveness.

• Lead incident response initiatives and perform post-mortem analyses.

• Propel continuous improvement projects.

• Mentor associate and regular engineers on cloud tools, AI-enabled workflows, troubleshooting, and responsible engineering practices.

• Engage in agile leadership tasks, including story grooming and technical evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of Azure infrastructure, security, networking, and automation.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, ARM, and Bicep.

• Expertise in CI/CD workflows.

• Extensive experience in Kubernetes administration, scaling, and monitoring.

• Strong background in supporting large-scale, distributed application hosting.

• Proficient in scripting and automation across multiple languages.

• Practical experience utilizing AI-assisted engineering tools.

• Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data management, security, privacy, model limitations, human-in-the-loop review, and auditability.

• Experience with integrating or operating cloud AI services and API-based automation.

• Knowledge of least-privilege access, secret management, monitoring, and cost controls.

• Ability to evaluate AI-generated technical output through testing and peer reviews.

• Experience applying observability data, automation, and AI-assisted analysis to incident detection, response, and post-incident enhancements.

• Experience working within agile teams and promoting DevOps culture.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities.

• A B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering.

• Proven experience in implementing automation and operational improvements in production cloud environments.

• Experience with AI-enabled engineering or cloud AI services is a plus.

• Ability to work in a standard office setting at a desk or computer workstation.

• Ability to operate a computer, communicate via telephone, and read printed materials.

• Willingness to be on call periodically and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
