This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create and sustain robust, cost-effective infrastructure utilizing AWS and various cloud services to accommodate changing business demands.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to enable automated provisioning and maintain uniformity across all environments.
• Design, develop, and oversee sophisticated CI/CD pipelines, ensuring integration of automated testing and deployment efficiency at scale.
• Establish and deploy thorough monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Kiali, Prometheus, etc.) to proactively identify risks and evaluate system health.
• Analyze AWS usage patterns to discover and apply strategies for cost savings and resource optimization.
• Enforce security enhancements to safeguard the platform's attack surface and create disaster recovery processes to minimize risks.
• Regularly assess emerging methodologies - such as agentic development, context engineering, and AIOps - to automate routine tasks, refine deployment workflows, and evolve infrastructure towards predictive, self-healing capabilities.
• Over 8 years of experience with AWS cloud technologies, managing and scaling production SaaS workloads in DevOps or Infrastructure roles.
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform, Helm, Jaeger tracing, centralized logging, and managing event-driven Kubernetes microservices architectures.
• A background in software development (e.g., creating services, APIs, or data pipelines) is highly beneficial.
• Practical experience with EKS, SQS, SNS, Lambda, AuroraDB, Keyspaces, and OpenSearch in high-availability production settings.
• Demonstrated experience in managing Kubernetes clusters in EKS, establishing autoscaling, and load monitoring criteria using tools like Karpenter.
• Experience in setting up and maintaining a CI/CD pipeline with ArgoCD, GitHub actions, and blue/green deployments.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems and proficiency in Python and scripting languages, with additional credit for experience in building production services.
• Proven history of mentoring engineers, performing architecture reviews, and proposing and planning for enhancements.
• A successful track record of monitoring cloud expenditures and implementing effective cost-reduction strategies.
• Exceptional communication skills with a focus on knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proven ability to utilize AI tools to generate insights more rapidly, along with a passion for cultivating an engineering culture centered around automation and AI-enhanced productivity.
