Field Service Technician, Windows and Doors

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Conducting advanced diagnostics, repairs, and installations of windows and doors.

• Possessing strong technical expertise in window and door systems, materials, and installation methods.

• Leading projects involving multiple technicians.

• Performing water tests to ensure quality.

• Addressing escalated warranty issues effectively.

• Carrying out basic repairs, inspections, ensuring safety compliance, managing inventory, operating vehicles, and providing customer service.

• Showcasing proficiency in various window types (single-hung, double-hung, casement, sliding) and door systems, including repair and replacement methods.

• Working with a variety of window and door materials (wood, vinyl, aluminum, and assorted glass types) with appropriate techniques and care.

• Utilizing a diverse range of tools with skill and precision.

• Conducting diagnostics and offering technical support through phone and email communications.

• Organizing and coordinating projects that require two or more technicians.

• Cultivating strong relationships with customers and sales teams by ensuring clear communication, precise documentation, and reliable service.


⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in general construction or building material installation is preferred.

• 3–5 years of experience in fenestration manufacturing or installation is preferred.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; AAMA Installation Training certification is preferred.

• Valid driver’s license with the ability to successfully pass an MVR check.

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

• Capability to perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and documentation; detail-oriented with the ability to execute repairs accurately.

• Strong understanding of installation practices for windows and doors.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to compose professional emails, reports, and documentation.

• Excellent organizational skills to manage multi-technician projects; able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.

• Exceptional customer service and escalation management abilities.

• Physical endurance and dexterity; capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs consistently, climbing ladders, and working at heights.
