This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Senior Cloud Architects at Effectual are tasked with providing technical leadership for Professional Services projects.
• Collaborate with Engagement Managers (EMs) to ensure an outstanding experience for both customers and the delivery team.
• Demonstrate Effectual’s expertise by delivering high-quality, best-practice solutions to clients.
• Establish architecture strategy, oversee technical standards, and mentor both client and internal teams on modernization, resilience, security, and optimization efforts.
• Define the target-state cloud architecture for enterprises and develop phased roadmap strategies.
• Facilitate architecture review boards and lead executive design discussions with client leadership.
• Create reusable architecture standards, guardrails, and delivery patterns across various programs.
• Design scalable, highly available AWS solutions by applying the principles of the Well-Architected Framework.
• Construct multi-account landing zones, hybrid connectivity (including Direct Connect and Transit Gateway), and disaster recovery/business continuity architectures.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Write Python automation scripts and establish CI/CD pipelines.
• Enhance cloud performance, cost efficiency, reliability, and security posture.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to client engineering teams.
• Conduct workshops, knowledge transfer sessions, and manage incident response.
• Resolve complex infrastructure issues and produce detailed documentation.
• Over 10 years of continuous experience as a Solution Architect, including:
• More than 6 years of experience in architecting and building AWS infrastructure.
• At least 2 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience using a DevOps toolchain (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, AWS Code* Suite).
• Recent AWS experience within the last year, with familiarity with key AWS services (Compute, Storage, Networking, RDS).
• Proven track record of implementing AWS services in various distributed computing environments.
• Experience in facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical/architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk management.
• Experience in leading highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments.
• Background in managing data center or cloud operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerts, and notifications.
• Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking about business, product, and technical challenges.
• Strong knowledge of leading AWS cloud security practices.
• Proficient in developing Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
• Skillful in coding with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Proficient in at least one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, Node).
• Solid understanding of Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and time management abilities.
