This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform SQL-based validation of HL7, FHIR, and batch healthcare data throughout all pipeline layers, from raw sources to standardized tables.
• Detect and rectify missing records, null propagation, duplicate entries, incorrect mappings, and inconsistent relationships prior to client or downstream product delivery.
• Trace clinical data from raw source messages through the transformation of HL7 to FHIR Bundles and standardized tables.
• Collaborate with engineering to enhance and support dbt models and mapping logic.
• Verify HL7 and FHIR processing across various fields including event codes, patient class, discharge disposition, payer, diagnosis, procedure, and DRG.
• Develop Databricks SQL queries and notebooks for validation, field-level research, production triage, and client go-live readiness.
• Document validation outcomes, mapping assumptions, known limitations, and recommendations for remediation.
• Work with engineering, product, clinical, and vendor teams using clear data evidence and reproducible examples.
• Monitor and investigate discrepancies in client-specific production data and validate corrections.
• Assist in clinical data implementations from acquisition to go-live, particularly for strategic or complex clients.
• Clearly communicate technical and healthcare revenue cycle concepts to engineers, clinicians, and client IT/data contacts.
• Proficient in SQL with the capability to write complex validation queries across extensive, multi-layered healthcare datasets.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks SQL and notebooks.
• Strongly preferred experience with dbt, Spark SQL, Python, Git, and contemporary data lake/warehouse platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
• Familiarity with healthcare clinical and revenue cycle data, encompassing HL7 v2/v3 messaging and FHIR resources/Bundles.
• Over 10 years of experience in querying, validating, and analyzing data using SQL.
• More than 10 years of experience in data pipeline, integration, or implementation projects.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, clinical, and/or vendor teams.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with healthcare clinical data formats and standards, including HL7 v2/v3 messaging, FHIR resources/Bundles, and associated transformation logic.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to convey technical and healthcare revenue cycle concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
